Three gardening myths

Myth #1: Coffee grounds help plants grow better.

Truth: While it may help some plants, coffee often doesn’t help and can harm plants. If you want to use them, supplement it with other organic products.

Myth #2: Add sand to loosen clay soil

Truth: When mixed with water, sand and clay becomes hard. To loosen clay, it’s best to add compost.

Myth #3: Drought-tolerant plants don’t need irrigation.

Truth: This is only true when the drought-tolerant plant is well established. For non-native plants, it is especially important to get enough watering through the first summer.
