Choosing a site
When you choose your garden site, you don’t want too little sunlight. The area should get about 6 hours of direct sunlight, but the more the better. It should also be close to your water supply so you can keep the soil sufficiently moist.
Loam soil is best for vegetable gardening. This means a combination with equal parts of clay, silt, and sand. If you don’t have this, you can add compost or organic matter over time. You should also keep the area free from rubble and debris and away from pollutants.
